Our faculty was established under the name of Gazi University Çorum Faculty of Science and Letters under Gazi University in accordance with the additional 30th article of the Law No. 2809 dated 28/3/1983 published in the Official Gazette dated 28.08.2003 and numbered 25213. Our Faculty, which started education in 2003-2004 academic year with 69 students enrolled in Biology and Turkish Language and Literature Departments affiliated to Gazi University and gave its first graduates at the end of 2006-2007 academic year, was affiliated to Hitit University established in 2006.
In the following years; Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, History and Archaeology Departments were opened in 2006, Anthropology in 2012, Molecular Biology and Genetics in 2013. Secondary Education Programmes of Biology, Turkish Language and Literature, Chemistry and Physics Departments were opened in 2008 and 2009, respectively.
In 2006, the Departments of Western Languages and Literature, Ancient Languages and Cultures, Psychology in 2012, and History of Art in 2013 were opened. As of today (2021), in our Faculty, where there are 85 academic staff, a total of 10 departments have been reached, 6 of which have students, 4 of which are not active, and education continues with 1125 students.
While in 2011, only Chemistry and Biology Departments were offering graduate education, as of 2024, 189 students continue their graduate education in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, History and Archaeology Departments in 7 graduate programmes within the Graduate Institute of our University. There are also PhD programmes in History, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Chemistry.
